Begotten is a black and white French horror film from 1991. After watching this movie, I quickly ran off to take a shower. This is probably one of the most disgusting films I’ve ever seen, with the opening scene of a man cutting and ripping out his own guts. The music gives off a sense of dread I’ve never felt before from a film. after that opening scene things only get worse and worse as more and more bad things start to happen. By the end you are seeing a man being dragged into a cave and occasionally stabbed by a group of hooded men. I didn’t know what to think of the movie after I finished. On one hand it was unimaginably grotesque, but I also loved that the movie made me feel. It’s like the movie is a visual representation of Black One by Sun O))). Overall, I’d give the movie a 9/10, but at the same time it isn’t a movie I would recommend to anyone. |
